his video by Dr. Monica on the channel Arogya theeram explains how to cleanse the colon and improve digestive health using two simple natural remedies. The doctor emphasizes that around 70% of diseases start in the gut, making colon health crucial for overall well-being and skin clarity.
She introduces two types of medicinal “teas” to help with constipation, bloating, acidity, and parasitic infections. Note: Choose only one of these remedies to follow at a time.
1. Neem Tea (for Cleansing & Parasites)
Neem has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that help eliminate intestinal worms and reduce gut inflammation.
Ingredients: 5-6 fresh, tender Neem leaves (light green), 1.5 glasses of water, a pinch of Asafoetida (Kayam), and less than 1/4 tsp black pepper powder.
Preparation: Crush the leaves and boil them in water until it reduces to about 3/4 or 1 glass. Strain the mixture. Add the asafoetida and black pepper.
Consumption: Drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. If that’s difficult, take it one hour after breakfast.
Frequency: Use it three times a week initially. For severe constipation, use it for 3-4 consecutive days until the bowels clear, then reduce frequency to once a week, and eventually once a month.
2. Dried Amla & Ginger Tea (for Digestion & Constipation)
This combination is effective for improving digestion and safely clearing constipation.
Ingredients: 1 tsp dried Amla (Indian Gooseberry) powder, 1.5 glasses of water, and a pinch of dried ginger powder (Chukku).
Preparation: Boil the Amla powder and ginger powder in water until it reduces to one glass. Strain it. You can add sugar candy (Kalkandam) if you are not diabetic.
Consumption: Best taken warm on an empty stomach in the morning. If needed, take it one hour after breakfast.
Frequency: If your bowels clear after the first day, move to once a week and then once a month. For chronic constipation, use for 2-3 days until the motion loosens, then gradually decrease.
Important Advice
Do not use these continuously. They are meant to reset your system, not to be a permanent daily habit.
A clean gut leads to better nutrient absorption and clearer skin.
Always listen to your body and consult a professional if symptoms persist.
