Kerala Organ Mafia Exposed

A massive kidney trafficking racket operating under the guise of organ donation and charity has been unearthed in Kerala, involving multi-crore transactions and the use of forged documents. Kunnathunad police recently arrested Sunny Varghese and his wife, Sini Varghese, owners of Sun Communications, after a raid on their premises uncovered counterfeit letterheads of MPs and MLAs, blank letterheads from major private hospitals, and fake police clearance certificates. The mastermind behind the operation is identified as Muhammad Najib from Melparamba, who, along with his wife, is currently on the run and suspected of having fled the state. The mafia primarily targeted financially vulnerable individuals, promising them significant sums like ₹20 lakh for a kidney, but often paying only a fraction (such as ₹1 lakh) while pocketing the rest as commission in deals that ranged from ₹50 lakh to ₹80 lakh per organ. Authorities are now intensifying their search for Najib and investigating potential links to prominent figures in the charity sector following the discovery of incriminating messages and audio clips.
